What is The Initiative Award?

The Award invites promising entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to apply and hopefully be chosen to benefit from a support package which includes business accommodation, mentoring and support: - legal, accountancy, IT, banking and marketing. The support package is totally free for an initial 6 month period.

The Award was the brainchild of Robert McGowan, a local businessman and Director of REM Properties Ltd - the owning company of Harlow Business Centre. Robert initially had the idea for the scheme after watching a television programme concerning the difficulties experienced by people who had been made redundant and how hard it can be for them to get back into the work place.

The idea developed from there and resulted in the Initiative Award

We hope that the Award will result in a new business thriving and creating additional employment and prosperity in the area.
